DeepBlue Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 18, 2026
This policy explains what information the DeepBlue Android app (package com.savantlabs.deepblue) handles, why, and the choices you have. DeepBlue is published by Savant Labs (savantlabs.app). If you have a question, write to nikheelvs@gmail.com.
The short version
- No accounts and no sign in. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Everything DeepBlue reads from Bluetooth devices stays on your phone.
- Logs, captures and results leave your phone only when you share or export them yourself.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect your advertising ID, device and usage information and your IP address to show and measure ads, based on the consent choices you make.
- The DeepBlue Pro subscription is sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment. DeepBlue only learns whether your subscription is active.
- DeepBlue never asks for your location.
1. Information that stays on your phone
DeepBlue is a test tool for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices. To work, it uses the Android Nearby devices permission to scan for, connect to and (when you start the loopback server) advertise to nearby devices you choose. While you use it, the app handles:
- names, Bluetooth addresses, signal strength and advertising data of nearby devices;
- services, characteristics and values you read, write or subscribe to;
- data you send and receive over L2CAP channels, and performance test results;
- the app's event log, device profiles, recent and pinned devices, and your settings.
All of this is stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. We do not run servers that receive it, and the app has no analytics or crash reporting of its own. The Bluetooth scan permission is declared so that it cannot be used to work out your location, and DeepBlue does not request any location permission.
When you share or export
You can export logs, captured data, perf results, device profiles or a bug report bundle. These files leave your phone only when you choose a destination in the Android share sheet or file picker (for example email, a chat app or cloud storage). What happens to them next is covered by the privacy policy of the app or service you picked. If you email a bug report to us, we use it only to answer you and fix the problem.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of DeepBlue shows ads: a banner, a native ad in the device list, optional rewarded ads that unlock Pro features for a while, and occasional full screen ads (interstitial and app open ads) at natural breaks. Ads are served by the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob). DeepBlue Pro subscribers see no ads and the app makes no ad requests for them.
To serve ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:
- your device's advertising ID (and similar identifiers such as the app set ID);
- device information, such as model, operating system version, language and screen size;
- your IP address, which can indicate your approximate location;
- usage and diagnostic information about the ads, such as which ads were shown, taps and ad performance.
This data is sent to Google over an encrypted connection. Google's use of it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your consent and choices
- Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and some US states), DeepBlue shows Google's consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) before any ad is requested.
- You can choose personalised ads, or non-personalised ads that are based on general context instead of your past activity.
- You can change your choice at any time in DeepBlue under Settings, Privacy and ads, Ad privacy choices.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Settings, Privacy, Ads, or Google, Ads, depending on the phone).
- Subscribing to DeepBlue Pro removes ads entirely.
Rewarded unlocks and ad frequency limits are tracked on your phone only.
3. Subscription (Google Play Billing)
DeepBlue Pro is a monthly subscription sold through Google Play. Google processes your payment under the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Play terms. DeepBlue never sees your card or bank details, your billing address or your Google account password. The app receives only what it needs to unlock Pro: whether you have an active subscription, the product, and a purchase token used to confirm the purchase with Google Play. You can cancel at any time in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions.
4. Analytics and other services
DeepBlue contains no analytics, tracking or crash reporting SDK of its own. The only third party services in the app are Google AdMob (with the Google User Messaging Platform) and Google Play Billing described above. Google Play itself may collect information about app installs and crashes under Google's own policies and your device settings.
5. How long information is kept
- Information on your phone is kept until you delete it in the app (for example Clear log or removing a profile), clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app, which deletes all of it.
- We do not hold any copy of your app data, so there is nothing for us to delete on a server.
- Data collected by Google for ads or purchases is kept according to Google's retention policies (see How Google retains data).
- Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer you, then deleted.
6. Children
DeepBlue is a technical tool for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or state privacy laws in the United States), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal information, to object to or limit its use, and to withdraw consent. Because DeepBlue keeps your app data on your phone, you control it directly: you can view, export or delete it in the app at any time. For ad data, use Ad privacy choices in the app and Google's tools at My Ad Center. For anything else, email nikheelvs@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security
App data is kept in DeepBlue's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Ads and purchases talk to Google over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we do not send your Bluetooth data anywhere, which keeps the risk low.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it at this address and change the effective date above. If a change affects how your information is used in a significant way, we will also point it out in the app or on the Google Play listing.
